Ugu mayor will ‘actively take part’ in imbizos

Communities are asked to share their views on service delivery issues.

UGU District Municipality is set to take part in every mayoral imbizo hosted by local municipalities within the district, scheduled for October and November this year, according to a media statement released by the municipality on Wednesday this week.

These sessions will allow communities to engage the municipality on issues of service delivery. Communities are urged to attend the mayoral imbizo in their respective areas, in order to advise the municipality on how it should improve on its service delivery programmes.

The mayor of the district, Cllr Ntombifikile Gumede, will actively participate in the dialogues and jointly contribute to the municipality’s objective of moving the district forward. “During this period, the municipality is reaching out and interacting with various communities across the district in identifying their service delivery needs and it is of paramount importance that communities take advantage of their democratic right to participate in the affairs of the municipality by attending these meetings and sharing their constructive service delivery improvement views,” said the mayor.
