Ugu jazz countdown begins

There will be a night of praise and worship for the big event.

THE Ugu Jazz, Arts and Culture Festival task team has confirmed that it’s all systems go for June 27.

In fact, the build-up events start this Saturday at 6pm with the Ugu Jazz Gospel Festival.

Emcee is well known Khozi FM presenter Sbu Buthelezi who will share the stage with local Radio Sunny South presenter Mbali Mbotho.

Those attending this event will enjoy praise and worship from gospel giants such as Sfiso Ncwane, Sqwili Zuma, Thina Zungu, Dumi Kokstad, Hlengiwe Mhlabe, Mthunzi Namba and many more.

Tickets are available at all Computicket outlets – R80 for general entry, R200 for VIP and R100 at the gate.

“Ugu is ready to welcome the province and neighbours. And, as promised, much anticipated performances from the festival’s headliners will begin as from this weekend,” said Siya Msomi of Cyassound Holdings Projects and Events Management.

The aim of the gospel concert is to pray for the ninth annual Ugu Jazz, Arts and Culture Festival at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on June 26 and 27. The jazz will feature headliners such as Sbongile Khumalo, Zama Jobe, Lira, Ringo Madlingozi, Jimmy Dludlu, Thandiswa Mazwai, the Soil and many more.

On June 26 there will be the Diva’s Concert where women will be entertained by female jazz divas. Tickets for this event will be R200. Tickets for the main event will be R280 for general entry, R350 for the Golden Circle and R900 for VIP.
