Sheppie’s FCS unit is lauded

The unit was praised for setting such an outstanding example.

THE Port Shepstone Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit (FCS) took top honours at the SAPS Provincial Commissioner’s Service Excellence Awards held in Durban recently.

The unit, which deals with all family and child sexually related offences, serves an area stretching from Ixopo to Port Shepstone. The area includes 15 stations and comprises of 24 staff which include administration personnel.

Captain Kishore Giani and Captain Sunil Singh are the two senior officers at the unit.

The station commander of Port Shepstone, Brigadier Agnes Nxamagele, thanked the officers for the long hours that everyone puts in on a daily basis to ensure arrests and convictions.

She also conveyed her appreciation towards the members for instilling trust in the community by removing the perpetrators in these types of crimes from society.

Major General Thembi Ndlovu, the cluster commander of Port Shepstone, was delighted with the award and praised the unit for setting such an outstanding example to other police in the cluster.
