Lethal liquor kills man
A man has died after drinking a lethal concoction in Gcilima near Southbroom.
A MAN from Gcilima, near Southbroom has died and another has been admitted to hospital after drinking contaminated alcohol last Friday.
Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said police in Gcilima opened an inquest docket after Mncedisi Ndovela (21) died after allegedly drinking liquor that was poisonous.
Investigations have revealed that Ndovela and a friend mixed up a concoction and drank it.
“Ndovela’s girlfriend told police that when he arrived at her house at about 5pm he was not feeling well and was vomiting. She tried to take him to the clinic but Ndovela refused to go. The friend, whose name is unknown, was admitted to hospital,” said Capt Mfeka.
If anyone is aware of people selling suspicious alcohol, they are urged to contact the police immediately.
