Another toddler drowns in swimming pool
The brother found his two-year-old sister floating in the swimming pool.
CHRISTMAS Eve ended in tragedy for a Margate family when their two-year-old child drowned in the swimming pool at their home in Piet Retief Road.
Margate police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka said that the Jafta family was at their home in Margate Extension Three when tragedy struck at about 3.30pm.
“According to reports, the grandmother was getting ready to feed the children and noticed that Asiza Zola Jafta was not in the house. The grandmother then instructed the brother to call the toddler. When the brother went outside he found his sister floating in the swimming pool,” said Captain Mfeka.
An inquest docket has been opened.
