Wade Young injured in nightclub attack

He was slashed on the chin and mouth, apparently with a broken bottle.

SOUTH African enduro star, Wade Young (18), from Paddock was seriously injured in a bar brawl at a nightclub in Margate during the early hours of last Sunday morning.

The teenager, who won the recent Roof of Africa enduro motorbike race for the second time in three years, was  apparently struck in the face with a bottle during the alercation.

He sustained deep cuts to the chin and mouth and has since been treated by a plastic surgeon in Hillcrest.

Young made headlines when he became the youngest winner of the Roof of Africa two years ago.

He has also won various other titles around the world.

Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said an assault charge, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, was being investigated by Margate SAPS.

“Margate police will view the video footage. No arrests have yet been made,” said Capt Mfeka.
