NDLELA Lawrence Majiya (31) who grabbed a 20-year-old woman and tried to pull down her skirt to see ‘if she was still a virgin’ was recently convicted of sexual assault in the Izingolweni Magistrate’s Court.
Majiya was handed a five year suspended sentence.
On May 19, the woman was alone at her home in KwaNdunu Ward, Izingolweni, when Majiya arrived at the house.
He first asked her to find him a ‘girl in the area, somebody to love’ before telling her that her brother had told him to collect his soccer boots.
The woman replied that she could not hand over the boots without her brother’s consent, and would check if her brother was inside the house.
Majiya followed her inside, grabbed her, and tried to pull her skirt down. The woman fought back, managing to escape from him and flee.
Majiya was later arrested.
