Double shooting believed to be domestic dispute

The firearm has been seized and will be subjected to ballistic tests.

A MAN and his wife are in hospital after a double shooting incident near the Wimpy at Scottburgh main beach on Tuesday this week.

“It is claimed that the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself. Both husband and wife were rushed to the GJ Crookes Hospital in Scottburgh,” said police spokesman, Captain Vincent Pandarum.

The couple is believed to be in their 30s, and both work in Port Shepstone.

The motive for the shooting is yet to be established. The husband sustained a single gunshot wound to the head while the wife was shot in the face and torso.

The firearm has been seized and will be subjected to ballistic tests.

Investigations are continuing.
