Support children’s golf fundraiser this Saturday

Today is a combined Stableford.

Gary Jones took a day off to play golf last Wednesday! He capped it off by winning the Individual Stableford game with 39 points. Two points further back was Brian Richards with 37. Anton Visage found the hidden holes and again no-one got a birdie on the par 3’s.

It was a family affair last Friday for the 5 pin and this time it wasn’t the Gillivers. Org and Griet Viviers took centre stage with Griet outdoing Org by 11 points to 10. Griet making a bit of a habit of this as she also won the last one. Well done Griet and put that orange note along with Org’s blue one to good use.

It was a welcome return to the Individual Stableford on Saturday as we hosted the Umthunzi Hotel sponsorship. Walking away with 41 points was Denis Brown followed by Tony Power with 39 and TM Moodley got third place again. Tony Power made a day of it as he found the hidden holes and a two club along with Liam Parker-Dennison who got two. Nearest the pins were awarded to Denis Brown 2nd, Liam P-D 10th and Org Viviers 17th. Deane Jooste was not left out of it as he scooped up Stone Last.

This Wednesday (10th) is a combined Stableford and this Saturday (13th) we will be playing for the kids. The 49th district is organising a golf day for the Children’s Orphanage. A really special charity that needs your support. The list is up and quite full already but come along and get your name down. Play starts at 09:00. And everyone is off the first tee. The club championships have been moved out by a week to June 3 and 4, the list is on the board.

Flyer’s footnote: Every time a golfer gets a birdie he must subsequently make two double bogies to restore the equilibrium of the golfing universe.
