BRONWYN TANNER: Tuning In – Plenty of stalls and arena events at Mayfair this Sunday

It’s the first paper of the fifth month, as well as a change in season.

Don’t miss out on the Mayfair at the Range in Pennington on Sunday, May 7 from 09:00 until 15:00. They are hoping to attract at least 100 stalls as the numbers are growing each day. Last year with the money raised, a portion was donated to the RAC at Umdoni Retirement Village.
This year the vision is to help those children who are not in a position to afford stationery and school shoes, as well as teenage girls who can’t afford sanitary pads. There is a passion for making a difference in children’s lives – we do not seek recognition for this, our passion is to help children.
On the day there will be arena events such as kids’ races and games, Dr G’s amazing science show, traditional dance and so forth. Quality art will be displayed in the art exhibition marquee. There will be bar facilities and a craft beer stall along with an assortment of food including halaal and vegan options.

This event is welcomed by crafters and artists from far and wide, not to mention by the community at large. Hampson Suzuki will be showcasing their very best of vehicles and last but not least, Dave Guselli from East Coast Gold will be the host for the day. There will be a music concert from 15:00 to 21:00 hosting three local artists. For further information contact 078 0745599.

The Sanctuary of the Great White Light, 9 Barrow Street, Umkomaas, will be holding their clairvoyant day on Saturday, May 6 from 09:00 to 14:30. There will be reiki healing on offer and reflexology and esoteric goods on sale. For a booking contact 083 6545261.

For gardeners, farmworkers and all those who come into contact with alien invasive plants, training is available. This is a Bazley Conservancy initiative supported by Elsa Pooley. The training includes three days including practical application, a learning manual together with a Certificate of Competence on completion of the course. There will be an e-waste collection today (3rd), between 09:00 and 10:00 at the recycling drop off at Relton Hall. Items to be included: Any household appliances that worked from a power outlet or battery; anything with a circuit board i.e. computer equipment, printers, sound or TV, cellphones, etc.
