Scholarships and sport take centre stage at Creston

The various rounds of athletics trials eventually resulted in four Senior Primary athletes being selected for the Ugu team, namely Lily Currie, Sibulele Ngcaku, Jarred Richards and Roxanne Senekal.

Creston College congratulates Grade 7 learners, Loyiso Ndamase and Zak Wagner who have been awarded scholarships for their high school career.

Lutho Menziwa, Langa Cele, Khulu Mlondo and Oliver Smith were selected to the U11 SKZN cricket side. At the U13 SKZN trials, Daniel Davies and Loyiso Ndamase were selected into the squad.

Senior Primary swimmers who have been awarded SKZN colours are Emma Thompson, Blake Longhurst and Alek Wagner. Roxanne earned a silver medal for her high jump.

Hockey has had a lot of attention this term with the opening of the new full-size AstroTurf. Lily Currie, Ngcebo Mazwi, Rachael Kendall, Sinako Nozwane, Daniel Davies, Mihlali Hlomza, Aubrey Mkhize, Alexander Muzenda, Ronan Rogers and Luzuko Pangwa were selected for the Ugu U13 teams and Zaiah Dennis, Alexa Mendez da Silva, Jessica Stott, Emma Thompson, Siyamdumisa Mbatha, Qhama Mvulana, Amahle Magxala, Luyanda Ngidi, Aiden Caine, Elabo Mgoduka, Blake Longhurst and Khulu Mlondo for the U12 teams.

The following College Phase boys and girls made KZN Coastal Districts hockey teams: Luke van Niekerk U14 boys reserve, Dhylan Muzenda U16 boys reserve, Meriqé Pillay and Prosper Mlondo U18A boys team, Jyhdesh Naidoo and Troy Strydom U18 reserves, Simoné van Heerden U16 girls reserve, Slondiwe Ndwalane U18A girls team and Julia Griffioen U18 girls reserve.

Congratulating Loyiso Ndamase on his scholarship at Creston College are Zelna van Heerden and Executive Head, Noel Coetzee.
