Eagles show good form at Umdoni Park GC

The next game will be held at Umdoni on April 4.

Umdoni Park Golf Club, one of the hidden treasures on the South Coast, boasts breathtaking sea views from 70% of the golf course and is situated in 200 hectares of indigenous coastal forest.

The views of the sea from this course are spectacular. There was a minute’s silence observed on the passing of a Village Eagles member, Derek Henderson. Our sincere condolences and prayers go out to Barbara and the family during this time.

The Village Eagles chairman, Eddie Matthews presented Umdoni Park Golf club captain Rynardt Crous with a wall memento for the support and care provided to the community during the floods and again during the water shortages in 2022.

Winners (from left) Dave Coward, Kas van der Merwe, Brian Kidd and Bill Oliver.

We had 52 players on a lovely overcast morning. The golf course was in very good condition, thanks to Rynardt and his team for the effort made.

Best lady was Stella Scott on 44 individual points and Billy Smith took the men’s prize on 43 points. The winners on the day were Kas van der Merwe, Bill Oliver, Dave Coward and Brian Kidd on an alliance score of 96 points. The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy was Rynardt Crous, Stan Sim, Eddie Mathews and Trevor Bell on 87 points.

Best lady and man golfers, Stella Scott and Billy Smith.

Eddie Mathews presented the results, and this went without a hitch. On the fines side, Dave Geils was the master and this was once again well-supported.

Our next game will be held at Umdoni on April 4 – see you all there.
