Science maestro retires after 38-year teaching career

Dennis must be commended for maintaining excellent results among his Physical Sciences learners over the years.

Port Shepstone Secondary bids a fond and sad farewell to Dennis Moodley, an outstanding educator of Physical Sciences.
Dennis matriculated in 1980, from Port Shepstone Secondary. He studied for a Junior Secondary Diploma at the Springfield College of Education in Durban and qualified in 1984.

Dennis started his teaching career at Marburg Secondary in 1985, where he taught Physical Sciences and Natural Sciences.
His exceptional managerial skills saw him promoted to the Sciences Departmental Head at Port Shepstone Secondary, in 2010.

He then climbed the corporate ladder to Deputy Principal post, in 2016. He has an enviable teaching career of 38 years of exemplary service. Dennis must be commended for maintaining excellent results among his Physical Sciences learners over the years.
Dennis has always been passionate about sport and excelled in volleyball. He captained his school and college teams and was instrumental in establishing the local Paragon Volleyball Club.

He also served on the executive committee of the Port Shepstone Volleyball Association and was the tournament director on many occasions. Dennis also convened the volleyball teams at school.

Respected and admired for his professionalism, compassion and humble nature, he will also be remembered for being a helpful, kind and humourous member of staff.
Port Shepstone Secondary staff, learners and the School Governing Body, wishes Dennis well in his retirement.
