Twilight bowls fundraiser begins at AMBC

Results for recent bowls games.

It’s been a very busy time at AMBC of late.

Here are the results of the monthly sponsored competitions.

The J Leslie Smith & Co Men’s Trips was won by Len Brickhill, Mike Mordaunt and Billy Smith with a score of 4+22.
Runners-up on 4+10 were Roger Lane, Rod Black and Chris Adendorff from Sezela.
Session prize went to Colin Winton, Ron Boyd and Alan Towers with a score of 2+10.

The Marriott Mixed 2-4-2 changed to a fours game due to us only having one green at this stage. This was played on January 10.
Winners were Tony Hoggins, Helen Turk, Billy Smith and Bev Smith 4+17.
Runners-up with a score of 4+15 were Liesje de Rosner, Mike Eley, Barrie Ainslie and Helen Meyer.
Session prize went to Fred Hutchins, Gina George, Cecil Smith and Jean Thomassen with a score of 2+8.

The Hibiscus Brokers Mixed Trips were played on January 17 in very hot and humid conditions. The winners were Mike Davis, Sandy Davis and Alistair Shaw with a score of 4+23. Runners-up with a score of 4+20 were Pierre v Wyk, Cecil Smith and Marietjie van Wyk. The session prize went to Tony Simpson, Noelene Venter and Anne Simpson with a score of 2+15.

Our annual Twilight bowls started on January 24 and will be played over four weeks. This competition is held to raise funds for the AMBC bowlers who were selected to represent Kingfisher Bowling Association in the Inter District tournament in March.
We have a full field of 24 teams. Play will start at 16:00 with a bring and braai afterwards. Spectators are welcome to come and support our bowlers and join us for the braai. The bar will be open from 16:00 till late.
