WATCH: It’s the weekend, baby! Time to park (anywhere) and buy a ‘dop’
Traffic? What traffic? A local motorist on the KZN South Coast didn't hesitate to park in the middle of the road to do some rather important 'shopping'.
Road rules? What road rules?
It seems the motorist in the video, driving a vehicle with NPS registration plates, decided last-minute (second?) that he needed to buy a few ‘dops‘ (alcoholic drinks) for the weekend.
Cruising through Uvongo, he suddenly decided to stop and park on the centre island (paint lines) on the main road – near the Spar and traffic lights.
We kid you not.
He then hopped out of his car, dashed across to the road nearby bottle store and made some purchases.
His car remained on the centre island with other vehicles weaving their way past.
A few minutes later, he returned to the car, clutching his alcoholic purchase tightly to his chest, jumped back in and drove off, like it was nothing out of the ordinary or untoward.
All this was captured on video by a man who gives some amusing, astonished, astounded commentary.
The video, which has gone viral, highlights the brazen audacity of the motorist, who doesn’t seem phased by his actions.
Unlike the rest of us, we would still be trying to manoeuvre out the parking lot to find a gap to get back into the traffic.
Not this guy, he jumps into his little car and easily slips into the flow of the traffic, heading towards Margate.
And… ‘poof’, he’s gone, like mist on a hot day.
That folks, is how you do (or don’t do) it. Only on the KZN South Coast.
