Cricket returns with a bang

The days are growing longer, which means full on summer cricket is around the corner.

South Coast cricket clubs and players were ecstatic to start playing cricket again.

Three games were played at the ‘Home of Cricket on the South Coast’, namely Port Shepstone Country Club.

The players were treated to energy drinks supplied by generous sponsor Ravi Lautan Accountants and, if the first three games are an indication of the quality of cricket that lies ahead, it is going to be a great summer.

With important elections coming up for a new Southern Natal Cricket Union management committee in early October, the local cricket clubs are extremely happy politics is taking a back seat and playing cricket is the focus for the time being.

Umer Rizwaan is pleased to receive his trophy for being man of the match for Sheppy Lions.

The public is welcome to come and support and enjoy a day out with bar and restaurant facilities available.
If you are interested in playing cricket it would be the perfect opportunity to go down on Sunday and let the cricketers know you are interested in playing and you can be allocated to a club.
