Fun and fundraising at fitness session

The event was held in honour of Women's Day.

It was a memorable day for the women who attended the Ultimate Dance Fitness’s annual Zumba Fit Morning in Scottburgh on Women’s Day.

The event brought about lots of good cheer to some 100 women who attended, and gave many of them the opportunity to win some great prizes. The purpose of this initiative was to raise funds and create awareness on domestic violence, sexual abuse, as well as emotional abuse and off course to keep women interested in fitness.

The event kicked off with an exciting Zumba fitness session led by fitness instructor Shereen Paul and her team.

Presentations were done by Carol Johnson who was a victim of abuse, social worker Arvani Sewpersad, and legal advisor Natasha Manikum.

Funds raised will be donated to GJ Crookes Crisis Centre that offers support to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and to the District 47 Children’s Shelter.

“The event was a resounding success and thanks to all the women who came out in their numbers, and all sponsors who made the day such a huge success,” said Shereen.
