Councillor Nomvelo Ndadane (23) from Kwa-Mbotho area in Umuziwabantu was sworn in as Proportional Representative (PR) councillor at Ugu District Municipality.
Ndadane represents the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and has replaced former Cllr Bhekinkosi Majola of Abantu Batho Congress (ABC) after he resigned.
This was held at Ugu’s council meeting last Thursday.
Cllr Ndadane swore under oath to serve the communities of Ugu with diligence. She has vowed to carry forward the directive given to her by the district’s council in line with the municipality’s vision and mission.
Ugu Speaker Cllr Sizwe Ngcobo welcomed Cllr Ndadane and wished her well in her new responsibilities.
