Port Shepstone Rotary Club has a new president

Frank Vincent is the new president.

The Rotary Club of Port Shepstone held its annual induction and awards dinner recently.

It was attended by Rotarians, family and friends of Rotary and the Rotary Anns.

Attendees enjoyed an evening of wonderful food, fun and fellowship while reflecting on another successful year gone by.

Incoming president Frank Vincent is wished all the best by Shamin Maharaj.

Outgoing president Shamin Maharaj highlighted the achievements of the club.

She awarded a few coveted awards to deserving members and concluded by inducting incoming president Frank Vincent for the 2022/23 Rotary year.

Rotarian Rowan D’Arcy was awarded the Rotarian of the year award for his invaluable contribution to the club.

Outgoing president Shamin Maharaj presents Vanessa Howard-Tripp with the Unsung Hero award.

Rowan’s experience with Rotary has also earned him the area governor title, effective July 1 this year.

Rotarian Geoff Howard-Tripp received the most prestigious Paul Harris Fellow pin for his service to club and community.

Geoff never fails to honour the Rotary way of life in all the things he does.

Rotary Ann, Vanessa Howard-Tripp, was presented with the Unsung Hero Award which is an award presented to a non-Rotarian for their support and assistance in club matters and events.

Shamin Maharaj (outgoing president) is pleased to present Rowan D’Arcy with Rotarian of the Year award.

Frank was also given recognition with the best attendance award, which is an award presented to the club member who had participated in and attended most meetings and community events of the club.

The Rotary International theme for 2022/23 is ‘Imagine’.

Members of the Rotary Club of Port Shepstone are excited to welcome the theme and look forward to ‘imagining’ bigger things, among which is the club’s annual youth leadership course which takes place after a two-year Covid-19 gap.

The club also participates and supports various local community initiatives and organises charity days to fundraise for their community projects.

The club is grateful to all patrons and businesses for their generosity and support this past year.

It looks forward to growing membership to enable it to improve its strength and continue to build on achievements.
