PS Senior Primary’s maths prodigies shine

The learners are wished well as they anticipate proceeding to the next level of the competition at a date yet to be announced.

Learners at Port Shepstone Senior Primary recently participated in a mental maths competition. The first round was held internally at school. Qualifiers who achieved the highest percentage represented the school at circuit level.

The competition was held at Louisiana Primary on May 18. The learners performed exceptionally well and the school is extremely proud that they brought home the majority of the awards in all grades.

Congratulations to the following maths prodigies:

Grade 4: First – Mikyle Naidu, second -Yusuf Sadar; Grade 5: First – Sonal Paramunsee, second – Shreyan Samuel; Grade 6: First – Hamza Umra, second – Muhammed Ameen Essack, third – Snokuhle Msane; Grade 7: First – Sonali Samdhan, second – Fathima Z Khamissa and third – Alexus Jaquire.

The Junior and Senior hockey and netball teams had an exciting day at the Suid-Natal Primêr Winter Sports Day. The u13 netball team played four matches and proved their mettle with each match, gaining much needed experience for the matches to come this season. The Junior netball team showed great enthusiasm playing four matches in which they walked away the victor in one match.

Both the Senior and Junior hockey teams played very well playing four matches each. The Junior team was most enthusiastic and showed great potential and energy by winning one of their matches. The Senior team won two of their matches showing that they are a force to be reckoned with.

All teams showed great potential, sportsmanship and clearly enjoyed the energy filled day. Suid-Natal is thanked for a most enjoyable and well-organised programme.
