Bakkie crashes into collapsed section of R102, Scottburgh

One person sustained serious injuries.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to reports of a collision on the R102, Scottburgh today (April 21).

Upon arrival at the scene this afternoon, emergency services discovered that a bakkie had crashed into a collapsed section of the R102 road.

This section of road collapsed last week during the heavy rains and flooding.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one patient sustained serious injuries,” said Craig Botha, spokesman of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service.

The patient was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.
