Port Edward Primary swimmers smash records

Learners got the opportunity to show off their abilities in the monkey crawl, walking, noodle, kicker board and freestyle races.

It has been a busy week of swimming at Port Edward Primary School.

Two separate galas were held for the pre-primary and foundation phase swimmers on March 18.

These young learners got the opportunity to show off their abilities in the monkey crawl, walking, noodle, kicker board and freestyle races.

Well done to the precious juniors who all swam beautifully.

A championship gala was held for the Grade 4 to Grade 7 learners last Tuesday.

It was an exciting morning with several long-standing school records being broken by Josh Burger (four records), Alina Dorè (one record) and Taylor Ten Napel (one record).

The following swimmers are congratulated on receiving certificates and trophies; Brett Ralfe (U10 Boy Champion and Junior Victor Ludorum), Alina Dorè (U10 Girl Champion and Junior Victrix Ludorum), Hlalumi Ntongana (U11 Boy Champion), Isabella Radloff (U11 Girl Champion), Nathan Lewis (U12 Boy Champion), Ange Dorè (U12 Girl Champion, Senior Victrix Ludorum and Best Girl Swimmer), Josh Burger (Open Boy Champion, Senior Victor Ludorum and Best Boy Swimmer) and Kylie Best (Open Girl Swimmer).

Further congratulations go to Josh Burger, Kylie Best and Ange Dorè, for taking part in the level three KZN Championships Gala in Durban, from March 17 to March 20.

All three learners received medals in various events, and Port Edward Primary is extremely proud of their achievements.

Their hours of dedication and training are certainly paying off.
