Golfers raise R36 000 for Pro Deo at San Lameer Country Club

Funds go towards caring for the aged, cancer sufferers, frail, and disabled along the KZN South Coast.

Pro Deo Care Group’s successful fundraiser, after a forced hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, took place at San Lameer Country Club recently.

The past year left Pro Deo in dire need of funds so the success of the day, which brought in R36 000, provided some much-needed relief.

“Heartfelt thanks were extended to sponsors and players. Without them, we can never hope to drive Pro Deo’s cause – caring for the aged, cancer sufferers, frail, and disabled along the KZN South Coast,” said organiser Eloise van Niekerk.

The very generous first, second and third prizes of the day were again sponsored by Food Lover’s Market, one of Pro Deo’s most prominent and valued sponsors over the years.

Winners on the day were Klause and Michaela Lehner on 53 poits, followed by Juan Dixon and Martiens du Plessis on 46 points.

Third prize went to Ronald Kuhn and Danie Schutte on 44 points.
