Pro Vision’s Nxumalo pulls a ‘wonderful’ performance

Thabani Dlamini who finished three points shy of first place on 39 points.

After two years of watered-down tournaments and league matches, Pro Vision is back to normal business, and last Sunday the club kicked off the season with the first of 10 league matches at the Port Shepstone Country Club.

Forty two players took to the field in the blistering heat and gave exceptional performances which saw Wonderboy Nxumalo walk away with the day’s crown, winning with a score of 42 points playing off a five handicap and also scored level par, ahead of Thabani Dlamini who finished three points shy of first place on 39 points.

Bulani Ngilande (third), Kishal Reddy (fourth) and Ashoo Singh were all tied on 36 points which saw them round off the top five.

Being the 15th year of this colourful club, Pro Vision boasts an exceptional membership of 70, as chairman Preggie Perumal stated that this year will be one of the most interesting programmes of golf since its inception.

Other prizes saw the ‘closest to the pins’ challenge take Preggie Perumal (5th), Bulelani Ngilandi (8th), Nathan Appalraju (14th), Howard Crouch (17th). In the closest to the pin for two shots, Dr Dhevan Appalraju won on the fourth hole while longest drive on the 18th went to Preggy Kandasamy.

The individual Stableford tournament was sponsored by Jess Verster of the Pro shop.
