Umkomaas soccer star Aphela does school proud

The second match ended in a draw whereby Aphela scored the opening goal.

Umkomaas Primary School is proud of its Grade 6 pupil, Aphela Mzelemu, for his dedication to sport and the hard work he has put in to raise the school’s flag high.

Aphela represented Team KZN under 15s as he was selected at the KZN soccer trials last year.

He was chosen as the captain of the team.

The team travelled to Bloemfontein recently, to play against another province at the National School Sports Championship and returned last week.

They played a total of three games and won their first match.

The second match ended in a draw whereby Aphela scored the opening goal.

The team made it to the semi-finals where they lost the match and were disqualified from the competition.

The scouts were impressed by Aphela’s performances in all matches and should he be selected, he will represent South Africa.
