Police on horseback make a visible impact during holiday season

The policemen and their horses make a huge impact on curbing crime.

Beach patrols conducted on Marina Beach, Trafalgar and Southbroom by the Pietermaritzburg Mounted Unit to intensify visibility.

Out in full force.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said this was in an effort to curb theft out of motor vehicles, drinking in public, enforcing the municipal bylaws are upheld and to  improve the general safety of the public.
