Beach walks are back by demand
Unfortunately, there will be no taxi service for drivers from end point to the start.
Mzimkhulu Honorary Officers are organising beach walks once again, starting at Shelly Beach and ending at Wild Coast’s Mzamba Beach.
The Shoreline Challenge 2021 series will follow the same format as before but will now include all Covid-19 protocols, so wear masks, and sanitise hands.
Unfortunately, there will be no taxi service for drivers from end point to the start.
No breakfast will be available, but really yummy fudge blocks will be on sale at the start so you can keep your energy up along the route. No coffee at the start. This will be replaced by cold filtered water and a sachet of flavouring (if possible).
To minimise congestion, organisers ask that you confirm your name and contact number, so that a pre-printed register can be available where you will mark yourself present and record your temperature.
What you do get for your R20 to conservation is security, medical assistance if required, camaraderie and a morning in the fresh sea breeze.
The dates are: Sunday, May 9 (Mother’s Day), Sunday, May 23, Sunday, June 6, Sunday, June 27, Sunday July 11, Sunday, July 25, Sunday, August 8, Sunday, August 22 and Sunday, September 5.
Possibly Sunday, September 19 – this would be the the Spring equinox tide, probably the best for fossil beds at Mzamba.
