Man robbed by gang of five in Scott Street

After snatching an undisclosed amount of money, the men got into their getaway vehicle and fled the scene.

Earlier this month, a man was robbed by five armed men in Scott Street, Scottburgh just as he parked his vehicle to go to the bank.

According to Scottburgh Saps, at around 11am that morning, the man was in the process of alighting from his vehicle when he was approached by the unknown men.

“Two of the suspects pointed firearms at the man and demanded money,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

After snatching an undisclosed amount of money, the men got into their getaway vehicle and fled the scene.

Police are still searching for the robbers and are appealing to anyone with information regarding the robbery to contact Captain Alton Pakkies at 039 9781900 or Crime Stop on 0860010111.

“We also advise people who need to make large cash deposits at banking institutions to utilise the services of security companies, ensure that banking details are kept confidential and to always be vigilant,” added Captain Francis.
