Umkomaas SAPS communications officer retires

Captain Shaik also served at various other police precincts before being sent back to Umkomaas SAPS as the communication officer.

After more than three decades in the police service, Umkomaas SAPS communications officer, Captain Ismail Shaik retires today (March 31).

He joined the police as a student in 1984 and underwent basic training at Wentworth Training College in 1986

On completion of his training he was posted at Umkomaas SAPS.

Captain Shaik performed various duties at the station and also continued with further studies and completed a Diploma in Policing.

He was promoted to the rank of an officer in 1993.

Captain Shaik also served at various other police precincts before being sent back to Umkomaas SAPS as the communication officer.

He thanked the community for their support during his career and appealed to them to support the police in the fight against crime.

His colleagues wished him well on his well-deserved retirement.
