Ugu District confirmed Covid-19 hotspot

Municipal museums and libraries will continue to operate.

Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address to the nation on Monday (29), the following restrictions and adjustments apply to the Ugu District:

“In line with the Cabinet’s decision to place the country on an adjusted level 3 lockdown, coupled with the naming of Ugu District as one of the Covid-19 hotspots, all public beaches, swimming pools and public parks are closed with immediate effect.

Municipal museums and libraries will continue to operate. In line with current regulations, a maximum of fifty patrons or in smaller premises, fifty percent of its official capacity, will be strictly observed.

The municipality will enforce Covid-19 protocols of social distancing, wearing of masks, sanitising and temperature screening.

Members of the public are urged to comply and play their part in flattening the curve once more. Remember, it is now a punishable criminal offence not to wear a cloth mask in public”.
