Creston College celebrates top achievers

The grade 2 learners ended their countries theme with Namibia, creating beautiful paintings of the desert and the Skeleton Coast.

The final NSC IEB paper was concluded last week Thursday (26th).

From October 12, drama learners tackled their final drama practical examination, finishing off their final examination last week Thursday.

They were presented with their testimonials and all matrics were wished the very best for their futures.

Grade 2 learner Khulubuse Mlondo displays his mural of the Namibian coast.

The grade 3s spent some time in senior primary last Friday, getting to know their teachers for next year.

Bronwyn Roberts and Genarize Pretorius read them a story and played a game.

They then had a picnic with the grade 4s where they were able to ask them questions.

The grade 3 learners also got into the Christmas spirit, making Christmas countdown calendars.

The grade 2 learners ended their countries theme with Namibia, creating beautiful paintings of the desert and the Skeleton Coast.

Creston has also selected 19 Grade 11 learners to serve as leaders for 2021.
The announcement was made after the Grade 11 prize-giving.

The school congratulated Luke Weeks and Bantu Mangcu on being named head boy and head girl respectively for 2021.

Their dedicated deputies are Stryda Perry and Claudia Monin.

Eagle House will be captained by Hannah Scott and Tiffany Hartley will captain Falcon House.

The academic captain is Jauné Tannah Pillay.

Congratulations to the following leaders for next year: Hannah Scott, Sarah Rolfe, Dean Strydom, Jauné Tannah, Pillay, Luke Weeks, Shannon Rieder, Noel Pillay, Bantu Mangcu, Rowhan du Plessis, Claudia Monin, Lamla Godlwana, Elizabeth Ballack, Stryda Perry, Tiffany Hartley, Luyanda Gumede, Robbie Strickland, Jodi Shaw, George Tripepi and Kate Richardson.

Prize-giving for the pre-primary, junior primary and senior primary phases took place last week.

Shining star, Simoné van Heerden, was dux at Creston College for the primary school phase.

The remaining high school grades took place this week, which concluded the school’s 2020 academic formalities.

A very diligent Simoné van Heerden walked off with the dux award for 2020 for Grade 7.

There were a number of other noteworthy prize-winners.

Special certificates of recognition: Diligence – Roxanne Senekal, Clarissa Niemandt, Bryce Voigts and Demitria Pillay; Leadership – Lola Curnow; Fellowship – Minenhle Shinga and Reece Baird; Academic endeavour – Kaden Moodley and Thomas Gutzeit; Minecraft champions: Keegan Peterson, Simoné van Heerden and Jadyn Kenneth; Natural Science – Jadyn Kenneth; IsiZulu – Luminathi Ndawande; Grade 7 Dux Approximae – Ayesha Pillay; Maths – Ayesha Pillay and Nicole Lisik.

Middle School: Art – Entle Siyongwana; Science – Dallin Naicker; Commerce: Dallin Naicker; Positivity, Commitment and Contribution – Meriqé Pillay.

Top in Grade: Grade 4 – Gabriella Bonda; Grade 5 – Athuli Mbile; Grade 6 – Kriya Sharma; Grade 7 – Simoné van Heerden; Grade 8 – Dhiya Jestin; Grade 9 – Dallin Naicker; Grade 10 – Ciara Manilal; Grade 11 – Jauné Tannah Pillay.
