Ruahn Beattie, NSRI Shelly Beach duty coxswain said they received a call from Shelly Control reporting a vessel suffering engine failure at the backline off-shore of the Shelly Beach Sonny Evans Small Craft Harbour launch site.

Our duty crew were activated and we launched the sea rescue craft Spirit of Dawn.

Rescuers found that the vessel had no engine power and was unable to make her way back to the beach.

A towline was established and they took the vessel under tow and beached her without incident. No further assistance was required.
