Four arrested for drunk driving

Another 25 people were arrested for the contravention of municipal by-laws.

Four drivers were arrested for being under the influence of alcohol at a joint roadblock conducted by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality law enforcement and Margate Saps in Uvongo last Saturday.

A 25-year-old man was also arrested in Margate for dealing in drugs by the Margate Rapid Response Team, led by Captain Luvuyo Nomaqhiza, .

Some 459 heroin capsules were confiscated.

He appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s court on Monday where the case was remanded to June 30. Bail of R10 000 was granted.

Margate Station Commander Brigadier William Slabbert thanked the public for their involvement as well as his members for the recoveries and arrests.
