Margate’s popular Mardi Gras, held on Monday this week was a colourful and lively gathering of happy holidaymakers and likeable locals.

Zoë Zwiegelaar of the Fire Academy KZN sets the night on fire.

During the Mardi Gras the main street of Margate is closed to traffic from 6pm to 10pm and it becomes the venue for this great street happening.

Foot-tapping music gets everyone dancing in the street, the eclectic collection of stalls is a browser’s delight and of course, the tasty food on sale ensures nobody leaves hungry.
