Police clamp down on drugs – cocaine seized on South Coast

Three men were arrested.

Cocaine to the value of R7 500 has been confiscated by the police in two separate cases.

Police officers from the public order policing project team at Port Shepstone Saps made three arrests in Margate and Port Shepstone last Saturday for possession of drugs.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge said a 34-year-old foreign national was arrested in Seaslopes Road in Margate for being in possession of three full ‘moons’ of rock cocaine with an estimated street value of R6 000.

“Two other men aged 25 and 29 were arrested at the Port Shepstone taxi rank for possession of drugs. Rock cocaine  with a value of R1 500 was found in their possession,” said Capt Mpinge.

All three men appeared in court and the cases were postponed for further investigation.
