UPDATE: No arrests yet for racist rant at Scottburgh KFC

Police confirmed that the customer had threatened to jump over the counter and assault the manager.

The racist rant videoed at the Scottburgh KFC last Friday, May 3, generated much comment on social media but, according to police, no one has been arrested.

“The customer phoned the manager to complain about an incorrect order, but when the manager asked him to return to the shop with the till slip, the customer became angry and called him a ‘k***ir’,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis,.

“The customer then went to the store and swore at the manager in Afrikaans, calling him a ‘c***ie’ in the presence of other patrons.”

Police confirmed that the customer had threatened to jump over the counter and assault the manager.

A case of crimen injuria was opened at Scottburgh Saps and is being investigated by Captain Alton Pakkies
