A WOMAN (27) was raped after being dragged into the bushes near the taxi rank in Ezinqoleni last Saturday.
Margate police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said the woman was on her way home from a tavern at about 7pm, when a man grabbed her, pulled her into the bushes and raped her.
“After raping her the man fled. The woman reported the incident to the police and was taken to hospital for treatment,” said Captain Mfeka.
He added that a man was arrested the same day and is due to appear in court. A case of rape is being investigated.
