POLICE are on the hunt for those responsible for shooting dead a mother and son at their home in the Mayfield area in Sawoti on January 21.
Members of the local community heard gunshots at around 9.30pm and went to investigate.

When they arrived at the homestead they found the body of the woman (58) and her son (30).
“The mother and son were on the ground outside the house,” said Port Shepstone Saps communications officer, Captain Petros Mpinge.
Both had been shot in the chest and head.
The motive for the murder is unknown. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
