Club chairman Niko Potgieter thanked Danie Swanepoel from the Sharks Academy, who kept the youngsters occupied with some rugby skills and drills while the parents registered their boys.

All South Coast Warriors rugby players – new and existing – from U7 to the opens, need to register with the club before they can play in any matches.

Register at the club from Monday to Thursday, from 6pm each evening. For more info, contact Niko at 082 4617139.

The Warriors also hosted some Varsity rugby warm-up games between UKZN Durban and Rhodes, which was an end-to-end battle, with some superb running rugby.

The games were split into four quarters instead of two halves for more water breaks.

UKZN Durban managed to dot down two tries in the last quarter to emerge winners.

In the main game between NW Pukke and UKZN Impis, there was a much more structured and physical battle.

It was evenly matched in the first two quarters, but Pukke found their straps early in the third quarter and ran in a number of awesome tries winning the game comfortably.

The coaches from both teams (Donald Ngenya from UKZN Impis and Jonathan Mokuena and André Pretorius from Pukke, both ex-Springboks) thanked the Warriors for the use of the facilities and kind hospitality.
