Fifty of his close friends were present to make the occasion extra special. Dawn Cousins said that the entire day was blessed – from sourcing the venue and catering and the good weather, to wonderful friends rallying, poignant speeches, and the amazing songs that were sung. The abundance of food meant they were able to pass on some blessings to Reinhardt’s Place after all festivities were done. Congratulations Joe, you are still in amazingly good health and wished all the very best for the years ahead.

Awesome achievement

Annika Chetty, Tweni resident and grade 10 pupil at Port Shepstone Secondary, has made parents Selvan and Reni Chetty extremely proud. She was awarded a merit certificate for obtaining distinctions for all her subjects and for being the best bilingual pupil. The many hours of hard work and dedicated studying definitely paid off. Well done, Annika!

Pre-schoolers graduate

Parents, grandparents, family and friends arrived at the Umtentweni town hall to attend Lilliput Play School’s well-attended graduation ceremony last Friday evening. Bouquets to Gail Sutton and her team for doing such a wonderful job organising the event. All the hard work paid off and the audience was kept thoroughly entertained. The children were a delight with all their ‘moves’, strutting their stuff on stage with confidence garnered from years at the school. A wonderful ‘bring and share’ was enjoyed after the show.

Community singing

Another function to diarise – Anerley Service Centre is having ‘Carols by Candlelight’ community singing next Tuesday, December 11th at 5.30pm. The cost is a mere R5 per candle and a donation towards refreshments.

Order one

Don’t forget to order a 2019 Tweni calendar for yourself and one as a gift for the friend who has everything. Calendars sell for R250 each and remember, you will be supporting a good cause.

Plan ahead

With all the load shedding and timetables being shared on WhatsApp groups, and the many questions being asked about service delivery, it’s time to practice the old Boy Scouts motto ‘Be Prepared’.

Hip, hip hooray
