AN 18-YEAR-OLD girl was kidnapped and raped in Shongwe Ward, near Ezinqoleni.
Margate police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka said the teenager claims that she was walking towards the bus stop at Shongwe Ward, to meet her boyfriend at Maguntia.
“At the bus stop she was a man who is known to her. The man grabbed her and assaulted her. He then forced her into his house and raped her repeatedly,” said Captain Mfeka.
The next morning, while the suspect was asleep, the teenager managed to escape and report the incident to the police.
A case of rape is being investigated. The man was arrested at Shongwe the same day.
Mthobisi Mafia Cele (22) appeared in the Ezinqoleni Magistrate’s Court and the case was postponed for further investigation.
