ANTONY van Rooyen (44) is wanted by police in connection with an alleged rape. Mr van Rooyen is accused of raping a woman numerous times between March 2002 and December 2009. After his arrest, he made several appearances in the magistrate’s and regional courts in Kokstad and was later released on bail. He however failed to appear in court as expected on December 13, 2013. A warrant for his arrest was immediately issued.
Mr van Rooyen is believed to be from the Mooi River area in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and is thought to be a regular visitor to Pietermaritzburg.
