Busy month for Hibiscus Kennel Club

The show and the AGM took place on consecutive weekends.

SUNDAY, February 17 was show day at the Hibiscus Kennel Club. Numbers were down, owing to the heat, but the show went on and the dogs did extremely well. Thanks go to Margie Hancock and Jean Whittaker for judging.

Results: Contact, grade 1: Small- 2 Linda Lyte and Vixen; large – 1 Jenny Robertson and Jodie; 2 Tracy Norton and Badger. Grade 2: Large – 1 Elsie McKillen and Jess. Grade 3, small – 1 Gaby Frey and Scooby.

Non-contact, grade 1: Small – 1 Linda Lyte and Vixen; 2 Liz Fourie and Miki; 3 Agnes Gosnell and Fonty; large – 1 Jenny Robertson and Jodie; 3 Elsie McKillen and Jess. Grade 2, large: 1 Beryl Verwoerd and Spice; 3 Gaby Frey and KT.

Dog jumping, grade 3 advanced: 1 Gaby Frey and Scooby. Grade 2: 3 Beryl Verwoerd and Poet. Grade 4: 1 Linda Lyte and Vixen; 2 Agnes Gosnell and Fonty.

Congratulations to Sue McCay on achieving first place in carting with Gita at the South Coast Kennel Club Show recently.

There was a good turnout at the AGM on Saturday, February 22. Linda Lyte is chairman, Liz Fourie vice-chairman and Sharon Derman director of training. For all her hard work over the past 40 years, Gaby Frey received the title of honorary president.
