Sunwich Port murder accused in court

The men will remain in custody.

SIYABONGA Sifiso Mazubane (29) and Emmanuel Zimisile Doyisa (26), accused of murdering Loranda Duncan (61) at her Sunwich Port home last Tuesday, appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court this morning (Monday, March 03).

Ms Duncan was found in the boot of her vehicle. Her hands and feet had been bound and she had an open wound to her neck. The case was postponed to May 9 for further investigation and both men will remain in custody.

The Duncan family welcomed the arrest and praised the police for their professional and excellent work. Ms Duncan’s memorial service will be held at the Port Shepstone Baptist Church this Saturday (March 8) at 2pm.

Update: February 27

TWO men have been brought in for questioning in connection with the murder of Sunwich Port resident Loranda Duncan.

Ms Duncan (61) was found dead in the boot of her vehicle, with her feet and hands bound and a open wound to her neck, on Tuesday this week.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid confirmed that Southport police officers and members of the Local Criminal Record Centre had brought the two men in this morning (Thursday).

Lt-Col Wiid said no one has been charged at this stage and investigations are continuing.

THE body of a woman (61) was found in the boot of her vehicle in Sunwich Port at 10.30am this morning. Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, said the woman’s feet and hands were bound and she had an open wound on her neck. The woman’s name has not been released.

Lt-Col Wiid said Southport police responded to a report of a missing woman. “But before police could reach the house in question, they received a report that a family member had found the woman’s body in the boot of her vehicle some distance from the house.”

Lt-Col Wiid said the woman was last seen this morning at 6.20am when her son, who stays with her, left for work. “The motive for the killing is under investigation,” she added.

  1. Hello…you guys did an article on my mother…Lorinda Duncan,she was murdered on the 25 Feb,the court case is today and I have no idea how to find out what’s happening could someone perhaps let me know…
