An elderly couple from Pennington was accosted and robbed by four assailants in their Palm Road home early last Thursday morning.
One of the robbers was armed with a gun while the others had knives.

“One of the robbers is believed to have kept guard, while three entered via the office window, which had been left slightly open, forcing the burglar guard in,” said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
It is believed that the robbers had worn balaclavas, threatened the couple and demanded the car keys, ATM pin codes and even the rings on their fingers.
The couple was then covered up with bedding while the criminals helped themselves to a TV, headphones, iPhones, a wristwatch and other jewellery.

The intruders locked the couple in the bathroom before fleeing. A local security company was alerted by people passing the house who had heard the couple’s screams after the robbers had left.
