#Matric2017: Fezeka takes top honours at Creston College

Pupils once again achieved a 100 percent pass rate and 86 percent qualified for university entrance, which is an outstanding achievement.

Creston College offers many opportunities for pupils to build self-awareness, self-esteem and self-confidence.

The consistently high results attained in the IEB examinations allow the majority of pupils to gain places at universities of their choice. This success is dependent upon the school’s highly experienced and passionate subject specialists, who offer their expertise to ensure that all the goals set are reached.

Pupils once again achieved a 100 percent pass rate and 86 percent qualified for university entrance, which is an outstanding achievement. There were 77 subject distinctions and key subjects reflected excellent academic results, which makes Creston extremely proud. 2017’s top achievers are Cameron Jones, Fezeka Nzama and Sherav Bridglall.

Fezeka was Creston College’s top achiever, best all-rounder, dux and was awarded academic honours. This talented young woman received drama honours and senior prizes for performing arts, arts, culture and languages and the English creative writing award.

Her outstanding academic performance in the NSC finals resulted in six distinctions (with 90 percent in dramatic arts) and earned her a place in the top one percent for life orientation in South Africa. Fezeka has been accepted to study actuarial science at UCT.

Cameron Jones achieved academic honours and maintained a regular position in the academic top ten of his grade. He also received the gr 12 accounting award. In the NSC examinations, this brilliant academic attained seven distinctions. Cameron has been accepted to study chemical engineering at UCT.

Sherav Bridglall was the active and progressive chairperson of the SRC. He was awarded academic honours, the lateral thinking award and several academic commendation awards. He was regularly in the academic top ten of the grade. Sherav achieved six distinctions including an A Plus in engineering graphics and design. He has been accepted to study civil engineering at UCT.

Other top achievers include Rachel Jarvis, who obtained four distinctions; Claudine du Plessis, Jessica Heaver, Jessica Harrison, Chenné Mante, Ronel and Sonja Voigts, who achieved three distinctions each.

Executive head Noel Coetzee, acting deputy head Rob Wyatt-Minter, director of studies Dr Susi Coser, the staff and board of governors wish every pupil well in their future endeavours.
