Farewell to Colonel Naicker of Scottburgh SAPS

He has been appointed head of Vispol in Port Shepstone.

After having served as the Scottburgh SAPS station commander for the last 18 years, Colonel Praga Naicker handed over the reins to the new station commander, Colonel Ralph Ruiters, last Monday.

Col Naicker began his SAPS career in 1983 in Umzinto, where he became a commissioned officer and later the station commander from 1993 to 1999.

He was then transferred to Scottburgh with the rank of a Lieutenant-Colonel.

Col Naicker recently applied for the position of Vispol head in the Port Shepstone SAPS and was appointed to that post on November 1.

“I have served to the best of my ability and enjoyed a great working relationship with the communities that fell within the Scottburgh SAPS policing precincts,” said Col Naicker.

“I will miss the people that I have worked closely with over the years, especially the Officers and Staff at the Scottburgh SAPS but I had to take this step to further my career in the Service.”

“I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all the members of the communities that I had served, the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Neighbourhood Watches, Business Sector, Non-governmental organisations (NGO), other Government Departments and all other stakeholders that I had worked with during my term as Station Commander at the Scottburgh SAPS.”

All the best to Col Naicker in his future endeavours and to the new station commander, Col Ruiters, whom Col Naicker hopes is treated with the same loyalty, commitment and support as  he was afforded.
