Woman stabbed in neck during Uvongo house robbery

The intruders made off with cash, food and other items.

A young woman was stabbed by intruders who broke in to a Uvongo house in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

According to reports, the woman (21) and her mother (51)  were awoken by the sounds of the men breaking in to the house.

They demanded cellphones and cash before stabbing the young woman.

“They took a flat screen TV, car keys, a wallet containing an undisclosed sum of cash, cellphones and meat from the fridge before fleeing,” said Margate SAPS spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.

Netcare 911 paramedics responded to the call.

“The woman was seriously injured. Once stabilised, she was taken to hospital for further assessment and care,” said Netcare 911 spokesman, Nick Dollson.
