Umdoni Municipality’s faulty landlines have locals off the hook with anger

In the meantime, Cllr Singh advises locals who need to contact the municipality to do so at 087-2865326.

UMDONI locals are fuming with frustration at the lack of appropriate communication methods implemented by the municipality following apparent technical failures with landlines more than a month ago.

To date, the fault has still not been resolved and continues to cause headaches for both Umdoni Municipality and residents.

Scottburgh ward councillor, Shara Singh, has followed up with Umdoni Municipality’s general manager of corporate services, Nolwazi Ncame, who has explained that the matter has been logged with Telkom.

Telkom is apparently working to resolve the break in communication.

In the meantime, Cllr Singh advises locals who need to contact the municipality to do so at 087-2865326.

Cllr Singh requested that information regarding the billing charges involved with contacting a Vodacom line be made available.

“Despite the request that the billing charges be made public, no response has been forthcoming,” said Cllr Singh.
