Step out

No self-respecting eating establishment in the 1970s would fail to offer `Surf and Turf’ on its menu. It was, as the name suggests, a seafood and meat combo. Southbroom Golf Club is hosting its version of `Surf and Turf’ this Sunday (17th).

You won’t be getting the combo but you will be rewarded with an egg and bacon roll after you have completed a fun run/walk. Registration is at 6.30am with the walkers/runners (all ages welcome) under starters’ orders from 7am.

Take note dogs on leashes will also be welcome.

Another event-of-note to be hosted by the golf club is a fabulous evening of soup, sherry and singing. It takes place at the clubhouse next Thursday (21st) from 6pm. Entertainment will be provided by the talented Arina de Witt.

Tickets at R120 per person are on sale at the golf club. Patrons will be able to `buy’ songs they want to sing or nominate someone else to do it to help raise funds for South Coast Hospice.

Phone the golf club at 039 3166026 for more information.
